
The RECOVER: European Youth for a Green Recover project is an innovative and important initiative aimed at addressing the issue of youth unemployment by promoting green entrepreneurship. With the unemployment rate of young people in Europe standing at 14.9%, this project is timely and much-needed, particularly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has worsened the problem.
The project aims to equip young people and youth workers/trainers with the tools, skills, and knowledge necessary to contribute to a sustainable, green recovery from the ongoing socio-economic crisis. The project’s objectives include training young people to become environmentally literate and develop green and digital technologies skills and competencies, developing young people’s perception of green entrepreneurship, and helping youth workers/trainers adjust their training in accordance with the competency thematics of environmental literacy, green entrepreneurship, and green digital technologies.
The project is also designed to raise awareness among young people and youth workers/trainers about environmentally-friendly employment opportunities and provide them with employability opportunities by promoting entrepreneurship amid the green transition efforts. The RECOVER Online Interactive Toolset, designed by the project’s partnership, includes an assessment tool to assess skills and knowledge on green entrepreneurship and economy and the use of digital technologies in sustainable environments. The project also includes an innovative RECOVER Environmental Ethics Campaign, aimed at establishing an environmentally-friendly attitude among young people and youth workers/trainers.
RECOVER: European Youth for a Green Recover project is an important step in addressing youth unemployment by promoting green entrepreneurship and contributing to the EU’s green transition efforts. By equipping young people and youth workers/trainers with the tools and knowledge necessary to contribute to a sustainable, green recovery, the project is helping to create a better future for Europe and the world.
