The SHINE4Youth project was a youth exchange that aimed to raise awareness among young people about the impact of food industry on the environment and our health. The project focused on discussing the importance of choosing food that has a lower impact on the environment and contributes to better health. The project also aimed to promote the culture of cooking their own food among young people and encourage them to have a healthy lifestyle by making well-informed and conscious choices.
The project was designed to create a safe space where young people could reflect on social stereotypes and discuss the fundamental terms of “health” and “sustainability” using non-formal educational methods. The youth exchange empowered young people to act on the local level by building their skills in peer education and their knowledge in the field of sustainability so that they are able to be active change-makers back home.
One of the main objectives of the project was to develop the skills, knowledge, attitudes, and behaviours of young people towards more conscious consumption and choices. Through the project, the participants were able to gain a better understanding of their impact on the environment, which is also connected directly to their health and well-being.
In conclusion, the SHINE4Youth project was a successful youth exchange that aimed to raise awareness among young people about the impact of food industry on the environment and our health.
